The AFJ is an organisation for female journalists in France. Since 1981, the association defends and promotes the position and image of women in the media. The AFJ aims to establish a fair representation of women in journalism, on all levels.

AFJ members wrote and published several essays on the subject.

Each year during the Visa Pour l’Image Perpignan festival, the AFJ awards the Canon Female Photojournalist Award.
