Brighton Photo Biennial is a festival for contemporary photography (including documentary), curated by a different special guest each edition. Since it is a curated programme of exhibitions, the organisation does not accept unsolicited proposals from practitioners.

The biennial runs educational programmes all year long, both linked to the theme and about independent themes of social importance.

The city of Brighton also hosts the FotoDocument festival for documentary photography.
