Early Photography is the national 'online' catalogue of art-historical information on the earliest photographs owned by the
Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam,
the Print Room of the University of Leiden and 25 other museums, archives and libraries in the Netherlands. The catalogue encompasses more than 3,700 portraits, city views and landscapes from the pioneering period 1839 -1860. The photographs were taken in the Netherlands, France, England, Germany and the United States by both Dutch and foreign photographers.
