The European Publishers Award for Photography is a major initiative to encourage the publication of contemporary photography.
Open to photographers world-wide, the competition is a unique collaboration between six European Publishers:
Actes Sud (France),
Apeiron Photos (Greece),
Dewi Lewis Publishing (Great Britain),
Edition Braus (Germany),
Lunwerg Editores (Spain) and
Peliti Associati (Italy).
Photographers interested in applying can send in an application form in the month of March. An overview of contact information can be found
here .
The competition requires the submission of a substantial, completed and unpublished photographic book project. The winning project is then published in book form simultaneously by each of the publishers in their own country, resulting in an extensive cultural collaboration in Europe.
The jury consists of the six publishers and a personality from the photography world. The committee meets in a different European country every year, depending on which publisher becomes project leader.
The Award Ceremony takes place during
Les Rencontres d’Arles Photographie in Arles, France.
