Extra information: Sem Presser was one of the most famous and productive Dutch press photographers working after World War 2. He lived from 1917 till 1986. His work features great social interest, documenting 'common people’ in their daily lives. But he also photographed celebrities like Sophia Loren, Pablo Picasso and Brigitte Bardot.
Presser has been actively involved in several organizations like
Zilveren Camera,
Stichting Burafo, and
World Press Photo. His archive is managed by the
Maria Austria Instituut.
