The industrial town of Liège forms the backdrop to the International Biennial of Photography and Visual Arts . International indeed: Aachen in Germany as well as Heerlen and Sittard in the Netherlands host part of the festival’s program. Each edition is built around a theme. Also, one country is chosen to be member of honour, which means a number of artists from that country is invited to present their work at the biennial. Both upcoming Belgian photographers as well as internationally renowned artists enjoy special attention.

Aside the official program, Liège cultural institutions host a side program around the same theme. This program is available on the website.
