Since 2004 the Fotoforum organizes exhibitions, lectures and portfolio reviews. It stimulates research, issues commissions and advises museums and other institutions on acquiring photography for their collection. Both contemporary and historical photographs are subject to its attention. The website functions as local and international portal. The Kasseler Fotoforum closely cooperates with specialists from the field of photography, and organizes the annual Fotobookfestival / International Photobookfestival
