Linea di Confine (‘borderline’) was established in 1990 as an association of municipalities in the province of Reggio Emilia, with the aim to promote photographic research on the contemporary regional landscape and its modifications. Rather than simply describing this territory photographically, Linea di Confine’s investigations interrogate space, with the contribution of the most qualified Italian and international photographers.
Linea di Confine is responsible for the collections produced during these territorial research projects, as well as organising cultural exchange initiatives with other Italian and European centres. It also provides exhibits, workshops and courses with authors of international interest, and publishes works on Italian photographers.
