MAGNUM is the legendary agency started in 1947 in New York and Paris by four photographers: Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger and David ‘Chim’ Seymour. It is run and owned by its members / photographers. To become a member you can submit a portfolio. Successful applicants will then become a Nominee member.
Magnum also offers portfolio reviews, seminars, workshops and internships to non-members. It is responsible for a large number of publications on/with documentary photography.
The Magnum Photos library is a growing archive updated daily with new work from across the globe. It houses all the work produced by Magnum photographers and some special collections by non-members. There are ca. one million photographs in both print and transparency in the actual library plus 350,000 images available online, covering almost every major world event and personality.
Magnum now has offices in Paris, New York, London and Tokyo, and collaborates with other agents around the world. Paris is where the main office and the
Magnum Gallery is. They have another gallery in the borough of ST Germain at 13, Rue De L'Abbaye.
Magnum has a
blog that reports Magnum's events. The blog will be completely updated into a community portal. In the mean time the archive will be online.

Magnum Foundation is the non-profit branch of the agency that manages several awards and educational, charitable and cultural programs.
