The focus of Peter Lav Gallery lies on contemporary art photography. The gallery is run by Peter Lav Hansen and sees it as its task to promote and further the careers of young, emerging artists working with the photographic medium as part of their artistic work.

Peter Lav Gallery is the first gallery in Copenhagen which focuses exclusively on contemporary photography. All artists represented by Peter Lav Gallery have previously had their work shown in galleries, museums and exhibitions in Scandinavia and throughout Europe.
