Polka Magazine is part of the Polka Galerie triptych: a magazine, gallery and website. All are dedicated to photojournalism and documentary photography. The magazine’s website offers a short overview of every edition, the editor’s note to every edition, a flip-through version of past editions, a short biography and explanatory text about every photo report that was printed and a video section with interviews with photographers. Especially this last section is an interesting and fun addition to the physical magazine. Famed photographer Sebastião Salgado is a member of Polka’s editorial committee.

All photographs published in the magazine are exhibited in the gallery for two months. The photographs are for sale; revenues are used to finance the magazine.
