The Queensland Centre for Photography facilitates connections between audience and art practitioners. Local audiences are invited to extend their interest in photography by learning about the medium, its practitioners and the surrounding theoretical debates.
Through exhibitions, educational programs, publications and a collection, QCP aims to increase opportunities for art dialogue. Local artists need local institutions to present their work, both nationally and internationally. The Centre also provides professional support and advice for the Queensland photographic art community.
QCP organises the
Queensland festival of photography.
Director of institute is Maurice Ortega and contact can be made with Camila Birkeland who is QCP's deputy director.
