Rolf H. Krauss (1930) is a writer and photography theorist who published a great deal of books. Besides that, he owns a collection of about 8000 books on photography. These are the base of PhotoLit’s online database of books on photography theory.

His collection has been on show in several museums in the 1980’s. An accompanying catalogue with the title Kunst mit Photographie was published. Some of his books were published into English. Beyond Light and Shadow (1996) and Concrete Photography (2005) are among them. They’re hard to find and they go for pretty steep prices these days.
