The
sittcomm award is a €3.000,- prize for artists working with the medium of photography from Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia (FYROM), Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine, who finished a series in the two years previous to the award ceremony.
The idea of sittcomm.award started in 2006. But before that initiator
Roman Babjak started
www.photo.sittcomm.sk - an online platform about photography and video in so called 'eastern territories'. The sittcomm.award was somehow a natural development from there.
The sittcomm.award started as prize for photographers, but lately has developed into prize for artists using the medium of photography. The award is trying to find and support talented artists whose work reaches beyond Central/Eastern European region context
Each year the works of the shortlisted photographers are shown at different venues in different countries as well. The winner of the 2010 edition will be announced during the
Month of Photography Cracow / Photomonth.
There is no age limit or specific subject applicants should restrict themselves to. The only condition is that you apply with a series of work (prints).
The award is organised by
cee photofund (SK), photomonth,
Galeria ZPAF (PL) and
