Marcelo Brodsky (1954) is opgeleid als fotograaf gedurende zijn ballingschap in Barcelona in de jaren ’80. Zijn fotoseries Buena Memoria, Nexo, The Condemned of the Earth, Memory under construction en Visual Correspondences (een serie visuele dialogen met collega-kunstenaars) werden wereldwijd getoond. Hij is de co-organisator van Forum Latino Americano de Fotografía de São Paulo en bestuurslid van het Latin American Photo Book Project.Brodsky is lid van de Buena Memoria Human Rights Organization en van het Pro-Monument to the Victims of Terrorism Commission, die toeziet op de aanleg en het beheer van het Memoria Park en het Monument voor de vermisten en omgekomenen tijdens het militaire regime. Het – haast activistische - werk van Brodsky is er in hoofdzaak op gericht het besef van staatsterreur in Argentinië bij te brengen aan nieuwe generaties met een directe, op de emotie en beleving inspelende beeldende retoriek, waarin een dialoog tussen de verschillende generaties wezenlijke inzichten en kennis oplevert over de verschrikkingen van het militaire bewind.

Marcelo Brodsky (born in 1954) was trained as a photographer during his exile in Barcelona in the ‘80s. His photographic art pieces Buena Memoria, Nexo, The Condemned of the Earth, Memory under construction and Visual Correspondences – a serie of visual dialogues with other artists – were exhibited in museums around the world. He is co-organizator of the Forum Latino Americano de Fotografía de São Paulo and member of the Editorial Board at the Latin American Photo Book project. Brodsky is a member of the Buena Memoria Human Rights organization and the Pro-Monument to the Victims of Terrorism Commission, which supervises and coordinates the construction of the Memoria Park close to the Río de la Plata, and of the Monument to the missing and murdered during the military dictatorship. Brodsky’s work seeks to communicate to the new generations the experience of the state terrorism in Argentine in a different way, based on emotion and sensate experience, such that the transmission of it will generate a real and profound knowledge based on dialogue among the different generations affected by the consequences of the military dictatorship.
