In 1988, photographer John Demos (director of Apeiron Photos) founded the photojournalism agency Apeiron Photos. Since then, Apeiron has evolved into one of the largest companies of its kind. It exclusively represents over 60 acclaimed international agencies and independent photographers, amongst them Corbis, Magnum, VII and Reuters.

Apeiron is very active in the Greek photography scene: besides being an agency, the organize and curate exhibitions. Apeiron also is a publishing company and one of six members of the European Publishers Award for Photography.

An agency is a mediator between photographers and different clients like publishing houses, advertising companies, web designers newspapers and magazine, who frequently use images.
