The City Museum of Rijeka has been collecting various objects related to the urban and industrial history of the city.

The museum manages several collections of documents, films and objects. The photographic collection consists of original photographs, negatives, slides, photo albums and postcards of the city and its inhabitants from the 19th and 20th century. Several exhibitions a year are dedicated to photography. Among the subjects are: an hommage to Niepce, collection presentations, works by Fotoklub Zagreb etc.
