FLUSS is made up of a group of artists and people from the cultural sector, who aim to approach photography in a socially and artistically meaningful way. Since its foundation in 1989, FLUSS has also cooperated with partners in other countries, especially its Eastern European neighbours.
The Weinviertler Fotowochen (regional photographic weeks), that are held each year in summer, comprising two photographic courses (workshops) given by well-known artists, lectures, and a final exhibition, have become one of
FLUSS’ platforms. Youth programs are carried out in cooperation with students and teachers, as well as a program called DatenFLUSS for artistic computer applications.
Since 2001 an extra-institutional team of curators (Andrea Sodomka, Martin Breindl and Norbert Math) has been in charge of the artistic programme (exhibitions, lectures, seminars) of FLUSS.
