Paris Photo is an annual fair for photography in the Carrousel du Louvre, underneath the Louvre museum. Around one hundred international galleries and booksellers present photography, ranging from the 19th century up until now. Although the focus lies with art photography, documentary is never far away.
Each year the organisation chooses a theme for their spotlight exhibition within the fair.
Paris Photo also offers a program for professionals and collectors, with artist talks and debates.
Paris Photo collaborates with BMW for the BMW – Paris Photo Prize. A jury presided by the CEO of BMW France selects twenty artists, of which the winner receives €12.000,-.
For the SFR Young Talent Competition, Paris Photo and
SFR Jeune Talents select five emerging artists to present their work in a special booth at the fair.
