PIEL de FOTO is a free trilingual magazine that publishes work by young photo-journalists. Distributed only in Spain but with an
online version, the magazine is a young and fresh initiative by an association of photographers from Barcelona.
PIEL de FOTO is born from the idea that documentary photography contributes to the society’s awareness on critical issues and helps develop the public’s critical thinking skills.
Piel de Foto aims to:
• promote the value, the creation and the publication of documentary photography.
• offer new spaces to young photographers, collectives and movements that are interested in exploring and depicting social reality and have no access to the traditional mass media.
• provide a place for debate on society, using the universality of the photographic language.
• promote and link movements dealing with documentary photography and photojournalism.
