Since 1981, the Prix Mediatine is awarded yearly to contemporary young visual artists with innovative, research-based ideas.

Four finalists are awarded a total of €7.500,- in prize money. Their work gets to be presented in the Musée de la Photographie in Charleroi, the museum that organised the 2010 edition of the prize (in the years before, the prize ceremony was organised by La Mediatine in Brussels).

Only artists born or living in Belgium can compete, by filling out a form. All information regarding jury and regulations can be found here .
