Purpose is a free and independent webzine, dedicated to contemporary and historical photographic work. It often features documentary projects. At the bottom of each portfolio you can find more information about the artist. The webzine also makes selections of work by different artists, based on a specific topic.

Furthermore, Purpose participates in public portfolio readings at festivals and other events related to photography.

Each issue of Purpose is accompanied by an original soundtrack, which makes looking at the magazine a multimedia experience.

Purpose was created in 2006 by Paul Demare (art director), Gilles Raynaldy (photographer) and Francesca Alberti (art historian).
