The Hague Municipal Archives / Haags Gemeentearchief is housed in the City Hall, in the center of town. It is the research centre for the history of The Hague.
Here, anyone interested can consult the archives free of charge. There is a library containing newspapers and magazines, a large collection of photographs, drawings, prints and maps that depict the city and its inhabitants through the centuries, and a collection of film and sound material.
The Municipal Archives also offer lectures and courses, assist with the preparation of publications and organise exhibitions on various aspects of the history of The Hague.
