The
University of Sunderland offers a very complete course in contemporary photography, combining practical skills with theoretical knowledge. The university also offers an
MA Photography Course .
The photography department is also part of the
East Photography Network (NEPN) , which was set up in 2009 to develop and promote photography in the North East of England. The region has produced some great photographers and supported a diverse range of practices. The aim of NEPN is to build on this history, providing a context for the future development of the regions photographic culture. The Network engages with a broad range of contemporary photography, including documentary and photojournalism alongside lens-based visual arts practice.
