The Riccardo Pezza Photography Prize is awarded by the
Museum of Contemporary Photography (Museo di Fotografia Contemporanea) and organised by
CFP Bauer in partnership with
Al.B.Um and the
Triennale di Milano. The Prize was instituted in 1995 in memory of Riccardo Pezza, a young photographer who completed his studies in photography at CFP Bauer.
The Prize is open to photographers throughout Europe: ex-students of postgraduate courses in photography, students of art academies and students majoring in architecture, design, art conservation, visual communication, art history or photography, who have taken exams related to photography (history and technique) and who have completed the above-mentioned requirements no longer than 5 years before the present edition. The theme of the competition, related to the choices made by Riccardo in his formative years, is ‘Narrating a place’. As part of a reflection on contemporary places, the work can freely express the relationship between reality and representation.
The 2010 edition of the prize was presented at the Triennale di Milano.
